Session 10
Hard Questions, Straight Answers
“For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1
Open (5 minutes)
What hard question about faith have you been afraid to ask out loud?
Read together
Galatians 5:1-6; Romans 13:8-10; 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. The teaching is at wordsoftheapostle.com/teaching.php?t=questions
Talk about it
- Which of the hard questions in this teaching have you heard most? How would you answer it now?
- Why does picking one part of the Law make a person “a debtor to keep the whole law”?
- Paul says love fulfills the law. Give an example of love going further than a rule.
- How can we answer people who disagree with us without judging them?
Remember this
We are not under the Law of Moses, but we are not lawless. We live under the law of Christ, and His law is love.
Pray
Father, give us clear answers from Your Word and kind hearts toward everyone who asks.
This week
Have one gentle conversation this week with someone who sees these things differently. Listen first.
Leader tip: be hard on rules and gentle with people. Some in your group may have carried these burdens for years. Let them talk.
